All-Time Rankings FAQ
Helpful answers about this box office ranking. What does worldwide gross mean in these rankings?
Worldwide gross is the reported global theatrical box office revenue available for a film. It is used as the main ranking metric for revenue-based charts unless a specific chart states otherwise.
Why can box office rankings change over time?
Rankings can change when source data is revised, when international totals are updated, or when corrected budget and gross figures are reviewed by the admin workflow.
Are budget, gross-minus-budget and ROI final audited figures?
No. Budget, gross-minus-budget and ROI are reference metrics based on available data. Gross-minus-budget does not include marketing, revenue splits, tax incentives or downstream revenue.
Why are some values missing from the table?
Some films do not have reliable budget, opening or distributor values in the active source mix. Missing values are left blank or marked with a dash until an enrichment or correction layer supplies them.
