Purpose The Corrections page explains how visitors can report incomplete, outdated or incorrect data on FilmDB Box Office. Box office figures, budgets, rankings, ratings and metadata can change as sources update their records.
What to include Useful correction requests should include the film title, release year, page URL, the field that appears incorrect, the proposed correction, a supporting source URL or citation and a short explanation. Please do not send private credentials, API keys or confidential material.
What can be corrected Corrections may relate to worldwide gross, budget, ROI, release year, title matching, poster matching, studio/distributor labels, external IDs, ratings, source attribution, simulated estimate labels or methodology wording.
Review process Correction requests are reviewed manually or semi-manually. Some corrections can be applied quickly, while others may require source comparison, API re-sync, manual review or a methodology note. The operator may accept, reject, annotate or defer corrections.
Third-party data When an error originates from a third-party source such as TMDb, OMDb or another provider, the correction may also need to be fixed at the source. FilmDB Box Office may show a local correction, a note or an updated value where appropriate.
Simulated estimates Domestic gross, international gross and opening weekend may be shown as simulated estimates when no official feed value is available. If a visitor has a reliable reported source for these fields, it can be submitted for review.
